Wanderlei Silva has confirmed on his official blog, that he is headed out to sign a bout agreement for a fight with Keith Jardine in May at UFC 84.

“I’m leaving right now to sign the Jardine fight contract and you are the first ones to know officially,” said Silva on his website on Friday. “I am starting to train hard again to be able to get the victory.”

“This week I went to talk to (Randy) Couture and I’ve asked him to be my new coach. He was very happy with my wish and he will teach me some wrestling. I’ll be doing the fighting training with his athletes in a time where everybody train together.”

Wandy is the man. I love this guy. Even if he did Lose to Jardine (which he wont!) I'd still be a super fan.

dude, wanderlei just isn’t as aggressive or as scary as he used to be. the “mad dog” is becoming the “mad puppy.” i’m still a big fan, however.

I am guaranteeing a win from Wandi…No doubt in my mind he takes this fight. Reasons Why:

-Determination to win after losing his last 3

-Knows if he loses it could very well be his career

-**HE WANTS** to improve all other aspects of his game and become more well rounded

-Starting to traing with Randy Couture at Extreme Couture

-Will have best sparrring partners and training out of all gyms

i dont think jardine is great but he is no pushover either. i like jardines chin. if somehow wandi does lose its not even close to the end for thim….its the beginning of wandi at middleweight. but that aside, wandi coming in agressive should take this fight. he needs to do what houston alexander did and just rush in with punches and dominate the clinch.

Good he is training with some that can show him how to go in fight in the inside get underneth that long reach of taller fighters, that's what he was missing when he fought chuck he didn't have that inside fight game. We know he has a good chin ,chuck clocked him with some good shots and he was still on his feet. Let's see how he does with Randy as his trainer. Go head! on AXE Mmmuurdeerrr!

Wandi has a great chin, he took shots from Lidell that ive never seen anyone take…and obviously Jardine has a good chin but Axe Murderer is gonna take this one

I really like how Wandi took it to Chuck. He didn't hit and run he went in there and banged. He took heavy hits and still threw haymakers in exchange. I think this will be a good fight and I hope Wandi looks impressive.

Agreed Wanderlei was a great fighter but you cant deny that Keith Jardine has impressivly knocked out Forrest Griffin who is ranked as number one contender and he almost knocked out Liddel in the first round, hes got sick power and the skill to use it

Im not counting jardine out of this one… I would like to see wand win but jardine is an animal, those kicks against chuck and the relentless ground and pound on forrest makes me think he is formidable if not a threat to wand.

Jardine is an unorthodox striker with KO power in one shot. Silva fell like a tree from a Hendo strike and the same could happen again. Jardine is unpredictably dangerous. So much so that we may see the first fatality in the history the sport. If you stare into Jardine's eyes you notice something almost psychopathic about him. His real fight name should be American Psycho. I don't think Silva should try to rush him. It may be lights out forever if he does.

ha silva will bum rush him into the fence and beat his ass ..if silva wants to him he needs to rush jardine

brent i would not count out jardine but he is not the hardest hitting guy out there, he may be a better striker than dan but i don't think he hits as hard as dan and vandy took everything chuck had and did not go down,i see jardine getting knocked out in this one.

I think Jardine needs a new strategy because throwing a combo and resetting will not work on Wandi. Wandi is an agressive fighter who is always coming foward. I'm sure Wandi is hoping to dominate the clinch game much like Houston Alexander did against Jardine.

wanderlei needs to be as aggressive as possible, jardine is one who cant really take pressure, when its pushed on him he crumbles, forrest didnt put pressure and look at him, neither did chuck and he lost as well, when alexander applied pressure he dominated. alexander is not a better fighter than chuck either….he just had a better game plan….if wanderlei give him a good clinch then jardine will end up like rampage did when he crossed wanderlei

Wand is a great figther and his work ethics is of the hook. That attitude applied to Couture's training method will make the difference.

I can see Wand winning by KO. This guy only has one plan when it comes to fighting, relentless attack. Even though its hard to count Jardine out of this fight but Wand is just too much for him.

    Go Wandy!! Run through him…..
