Gurgel should have to return his money. That guy couldn't win a fight at recess in a schoolyard.

I was saying the same thing about Gurgel on Saturday night. Why doesn't he take the guy down? But then it occured to me that he got 65 grand for fight of the night so he ended up taking home $75,000.

Gonzaga got overpaid for this one. That was a pretty easy fight to earn six figures on.

damn! i didnt realize fighters got paid this much. brock gettin paid half a million!! thats crazy. id want to fight at every fuckin ppv 4 that much. – they DO deserve that much money tho because mma is the toughest sport in the world. and the greatest.

Well its a business and although he may have made 450K he also make over a million due to his portion of paperview buys and sponsors…same for Couture. Keep in mind that each fighter must pay there Trainers and Camp fees so this could be good or bad depending upon how much you make…not all fighter get paid this much most make between 3-30K a fight plus win bonuses. It sure pays to draw ratings.

Tim Lesnar and Couture are why people bought this event. The live gate slaes alone made 4.8 million this isnt counting PPV buys. This is horrible pay compared to any major sport in the world by far even percentage wise. Just making a part of the gate sales and getting basically none of the PPV sales. This is why people want to box instead of mma. If more guy in the UFC could be a boxer then they would lol. The top boxers can make up to 17-20 million a fight. That is a humongous differnece then mma payouts obviously. I still think they should have made way more then that. And I still cant believe that u ould fight in the ufc for a living and be poor. It just goes to show how hard it is to be successful in this business. Seriously making 3k and fighting in the UFC Octagon? It is really pathetic. They need to make atleast maybe 10-20 grand. Atleast let them train fulltime and prepare for the fight lol.
