I hope they make the fight official with Rampage vs Evans…i cant stand Rashad….i think Rampage would KO evans like he did Wandy.

I think they will probably give the winner of Machida and Thiago Silva the shot at the title next.

Lol at least derek saw what really happened. Tim u have a huge crush on Lesnar so of course u will say he dropped him twice. But u r the one that needs to rewatch the fight my friend. He didnt drop him and like derek said Mir never said that he got dropped lol. So stop making shit up.

1 more thing Dana at the post conference said that Evans vs Rampage makes sense so expect it to happen.

    December 28, 2008 at 9:06 am

I look at it like this, if mir fought randy right now, who do you think would win, im going randy and still say coutures a better fighter, mir looked great but thats one fight and hes not going to be facing a fighter on the downhill slide he fighting a guy in his prime thats the most impressive physical specimen the sport has to offer. So I am not putting too much stock into mir looking great in one fight. Looked good but can he do it consistantly?

Rampage vs. Griffin 2 makes sense to me. Also, I would like to see Nog and Couture fight since they both just lost their titles and it would be a very marketable fight. Who should get the first shot at Evans? If Machida beats Thiago Silva, how could you deni Machida his shot? Machida has been overlooked long enough. Who should Bisping fight next? What about Anderson Silva? 185 or 205? Who should Liddell fight next?

can anyone tell me why forrest griffin received a $60,000.00 bonus. is the UFC friggin crazy for giving a guy that lost that bonus. one of the other winners should have gotten that money. i think Dana White is taking it in the rear end by Forrest in the locker room late nights.

    December 28, 2008 at 11:24 am

Machida vs. Silva.. Machida wins. Then you have Machida with an undefeated record, fighting Rashad who will also be undefeated (cause you know he won't defend the title before then). That sets up great marketing for the UFC. The last 2 undefeated fighters in the LHW division squaring off. This fight means alot of $$$ for the U$F$C…

    December 28, 2008 at 11:58 am

Gorell, can you think of another fight of the night? There wasn't a 3 or 5 round all out war in this one that deserved a clear fight of the night but if I had to pick one Rashad/Forrest would probably be it.

Machida or Rampage, I would like to see either of them fight Rashad.

i think Mir needs another fight or two before he gets lesner again….his cardio has much improved..but just to turn around and give him a rematch i dunno…i think they will let the excitment build a little …makes it more interesting

They have to have Mir and Lesnar fight next because Mir is the interim champ and Lesnar is the…other champ. They need to unify it. Tim, I don't see why you take anything to do with Lesnar so personally, as if you know him. And how is it highly unlikely that Mir will sub. Lesnar again? It already happened once and Lesnar's BJJ hasn't even been seen yet. I don't understand the rationale. How is Mir's reach compared to Lesnar's? Because if Mir has improved his standup, and he has a better reach, that could actually pose some threat for Lesnar. You can't just bullrush someone with good standup and a longer reach.

  12. Ryan S

    December 28, 2008 at 1:34 pm

ok, I just saw that Lesnar has about 2 inches over Mir, so that is going to be Mir's problem. But still, his standup has improved. However it would turn out, I think it will be a good fight.

  13. dane drebin

    December 28, 2008 at 1:39 pm

    lesnar has the longer reach

And I gotta say, I'm re-watching the fight, the first time he knocked Mir down, it wasn't a jab, it came from the backside, and Mir was only standing on one foot because he was kicking and it almost looked like Mir got hit, but didn't fall from the hit. I don't think Anybody is saying Lesnar doesn't hit hard, at least I'm not, and he could probably be the hardest hitter in the UFC right now, but hard hitting isn't everything, and so far that is all we have seen from him.

    December 28, 2008 at 2:45 pm

I think dane drebin and that buisnessman should go to the gym and pump each other. They talk like they have a clue about how being in the ring really is. Im almost positive they both weigh at least a deuce maybe a deuce and a half. Let me fill both of you in, go get laid hopefully a female but a male is fine if you so choose. I hate you both, burn in hell.

  16. dane drebin

    December 28, 2008 at 7:05 pm

    lol i weigh about 165 to 170 :)

i dont act like i know how fighting in the ufc really is im just a guy posting his oppinion on a site where fans post their oppinions on mma just like you

i train in martial arts but im no ufc fighter and i dont claim to be. dont know what ur so angry about sounds like ur the one not gettin laid but i dont know nor do i care about your life in any way. i like comming on this site when im in the office or comming home from a party to pass the boredom.

i will admitt this however im glad i ddint bet on this ppv because i got all three main fights wrong hahaha

i thought wand looked pretty good until he got knocked out it sucks he seems to do very well but loses a lot. i think and hope he still ahs a few good wins left in him. rampage looked awesome tho and i think he will beat rashad.

rashad while cocky and unliked by me looked very good and deserves to have the title right now until someone else says otherwise.

mir won me over in this fight and it was sad to see nog after the fight.

i still believe however that brock wont make the same mistakes and will come out on top.

  17. dane drebin

    December 28, 2008 at 7:11 pm

i think its funny how many people jump on and off bandwagons on this site people who talked mad shit about mir now all the sudden think he's god and people who were talking nog up like a mythical creature say hes done.

same goes for wand and page.

its like when chuck beat wand everyones was like omg hes back! no nobody talks about chuck.

a day before the brock fight everyone was convinced that randy was a top 3 heavyweight and now he is a nobody to a lot of people.

ANYONE CAN LOSE A FIGHT stop being so fickel

the day fedor gets beat you will all stab him in the back aswell

who are any of you to say a fighter like wand or nog are done? they both can still give anyone in their weight classes a tough fight or a run for their money so stop being so jugdemental.

  20. Naco21

i thought one of those "jabs" from Brock was a straight right not a jab.

  21. Naco21

    December 29, 2008 at 1:20 am

just rewatched it and it was a jab with the right. Mir was throwing a kick and seemed a little off balance too. Either way he was dropped with a jab.

  22. Tim

    December 29, 2008 at 1:35 am

Bottom line Mir was dropped twice wether he was caught throwing a kick or not…he still fell down and Yes Mir said that lesnar rocked him watch the post fight interviews if you must. I agree with Dane Drebin…everytime a fighter that you love loses most of you always end up coming up with some lame ass excuse for why he lost its like you cant just respect the other fighter for the KO or the Sub or the whatever, including me at times but i dont do that anymore just like i congrats Evans on his victory it was well deserved…i dont like the man period though…Wandy may be on his last legs and for Nog maybe all the fights finally caught up with him but the fighters that beat them were just better on that day. As for Lesnar why are you all so agaianst the man and now that Mir is going to face him again which i predicted would occur…you are all on his nuts that he is going to beat Lesnar…you make no freakin sense. At least i and a few others on here are straight forward and dont jump on the bandwagon per say. Mir and Lesnar should be a great fight but i just dont see how Mir based upon the first time can stand with Lesnar and i dont think that Mir can easily get this win by Sub because lesnar is alot more experienced and will probably look to keep the fight standing with the occasional takedown but the minute Mir pulls guard Lesnar will back up and stand it back up.

  23. Tim

    December 29, 2008 at 1:50 am

Oh and nothings ever personal with me if you dont like me oh well and if you dont agree with me who cares..there my opinions although i know some of you agree with me occassionally.

  24. steve

    December 29, 2008 at 2:11 am

Mir winning this fight doesnt make my opinion about him change as a person but it does as a fighter. Rampage vs rashad compared to a machida or thiago silva fight? Come on how many ppl know machida better then rampage? Rampage has more fans and more enemies that want to see him get his ass kicked. That is why rashad vs rampage will happen. Bersides rashad got a shot b/c he knocked out chuck so why shouldnt rampage get another shot after knocking out his nemesis.

  25. steve

    December 29, 2008 at 2:11 am

by the way a trip takedown isnt considered a drop timmy.

  26. doumbret

    December 29, 2008 at 3:14 am

The Lesnar VS MIR 2, will not be like the first fight…

first of all, Mir knows how to prepare vs Lesnar, compare to the last fight because lesnar had only one fight. But It<s the same thing for Lesnar… For Sure the power is for lesnar like the subs is for Mir but Mir did VERY WELL against Nogueria so i<m puting my money on Frank Mir

  27. Tim

    December 29, 2008 at 3:25 am

Than you will lose my friend…end of story…Nog is not Lesnar and is much more difficult to handle as far as the strength and weight and overall Size difference not to mention the strength of his punches…Mir can not handle that as shown last fight nothing will change in that aspect except Now both men are a little more experienceed and i give the Sub edge to Mir but i do not belive Mir can stand with Lesnar at all…i look forward to the revenge and by the way Mir wasnt Tripped in his first fight? where the hell do you guys get this shit from..Lesnar took Mir down at will last time wether it was by takedown or from Jabs or hooks, nothing will change accept for the ending with Lesnar standing tall as the victor. i just dont see it any other way unless its a rookie mistake made again by lesnar but fat chance on that, Lesnar will come in with a solid game plan and dominate Mir.

  28. derek

    December 29, 2008 at 3:27 am

the weak points about mir are his conditioning and his chin. we all know that mir can succumb to multiple punches, like lesnar's hammerfists. second, mir was breathing hard after round 1 of the nog fight. he said he was in shape, but he was breathing hard… and they hadn't even gone to the ground yet. however, i don't think lesnar dropped mir in their first fight, and mir has substantially improved with that striking. nobody wants to see rashad evans fight machida. that fight will be about who has better running shoes! i think rashad will pull it off thought because he is more active. what happened to yushin okami??? he should be getting a title shot soon. when wanderlei came to the UFC, i knew he was finished. because he is not the same fighter he was back in pride. wanderlei doesn't have that same aggression and confidence anymore. he trains hard, but he needs to put that training toward his fight.

  29. cory

    December 29, 2008 at 3:57 am

i didnt think about that but it's true mir hasnt shown that he has any cardio or that he can take a punch

  30. Tim

    December 29, 2008 at 3:59 am

Lesnar has the best conditioning for a HWGHT and someone of his size….it should be an interesting match though but you cant change the fact that Mir has a weak Chin and his conditioning still sucks…Lesnar from what we have seen can take a punch and rebound although honestly i wouldnt call a punch from Randy Couture that powerfull but it did knock Tim Syvia on his ass so. Bottom line Lesnar has the edge standing and takedowns while Mir has the edge in Subs to me its a no brainer Lesnar wins whats to argue…we all know if lesnar makes another rookie mistake he will get Subd but i dont see that this time around happening. Mir can not stand with Lesnar.

  31. Tim

    December 29, 2008 at 4:00 am

Oh and good derek about Mirs conditioning in his last fight…i totally didnt even think about that but your right.

  32. Tim

    December 29, 2008 at 4:07 am

Rampage wants to face Griffin again to avenge his loss…i dont think thats a good idea right now…he should face Rashad and get the title back and then see if Griffin can work his way back up after a few fights and than fight him…If rampage fights Griffin next and loses than its back to the bottom of the pile for him…bad move if the UFC puts him against Griffin right now…they should give him his rematch for the title.

  33. Kash

    December 29, 2008 at 4:25 am

Rampage would want the title more than anything, he must have had a chat with Dana about his chances and was told he needed one more win. It will probably be Machida and Rashad.

  34. MW74

    December 29, 2008 at 4:34 am

Tim, I love the idea of a rashad vs rampage match(i've been calling for it for months) but I believe Q needs at least one more impressive victory (KO) to get his shot and I think Machida would be an awesome first test for -sugar- and as far as Mir vs Brock 2….I don't believe there is any way we can compare who lesnar is at this time to what Nog has become…almost sad to see it…this far down the line….and I hate to say it but I'm gonna have to start buying in to Roy and accept that when these old pride guys come UFC…they just don't seem to have the same stuff….Affliction tops?!….

  35. MW74

    December 29, 2008 at 4:42 am

.oh and TAZKE, I did see that tap.

  36. Tim

    December 29, 2008 at 4:56 am

I wasnt comparing Lesnar to Nog per say and i agree i was simply stating that Mir did good against Nog striking wise but Mir cant do the same to Lesnar as he is much more powerful and as most have figured out even a mediocre strking skill Lesnar has can dominate you, that weak shot on Randy TKO him and we all saw the first fight which lesnar also dominated until that rookie mistake. Rampage said he wants to fight Griffin and avenge that loss before a title fight….maybe he was told that he needed one more win to get a rematch for the title…either way Rampage vs Evans would be great.

  37. MW74

    December 29, 2008 at 5:10 am

I agree mos' def re: mir vs lesnar 2 no rookie mistake this time and I don't think mir has a clue as to how bad it's gonna be this time around for him…more determined and angry to avenge his one loss AND he has the title to lose…NO WAY is brock gonna do anything except prepare and train like an animal for this match and unlike mir….no man boobs….hell, even I could do that….the man boob part…not the taking out nog part. ellohell. Better match for griffin now would be vs jardine again and see which forrest and which jardine show up…either way it won't be going three full..

  38. Tim

    December 29, 2008 at 5:17 am

I heard that Liddell is facing Jardine again…Where the hell is Bonnar at?

  39. MW74

    December 29, 2008 at 5:28 am

I thought bonnar was fighting on the dublin card?…not so?!…i don't know if I wanna see chuck fight jardine again…I like liddel alot but i think keith, who I'm not a fan of is just gonna tear through him this time…I don't get the feeling we'll see too many of those Who?uston Alexander or Wanderlei type knockouts of him anymore…not that I'd be against it…he just seems different as of late…damn cromagnon caveman lookin freak!

Man longest I ever waited to comment on a UFC event.

I guess it my opinion as long as Lyoto gets a title shot its his belt for awhile I think he can beat anyone in the division. I can't wait for his next fight. poor Nog Ill say more of course except that i got food poisoning the night of the fight didnt buy it had to hear about the results in the emergency room in Tennessee> Where I waited for 5 hours just to get a hospital bed> It was the worst night of my life and when I heard the results I thought it was the drugs….

  41. zalbag

    December 29, 2008 at 6:35 am

Yeah and Forrest Jardine seems like one of the next likely matchups> though Rampage said he wants Forrest before he gets a title shot.

I still am curious how, in Tim's eyes, it is near impossible for Lesnar to get caught in a BJJ blackbelt's submission when we have not even seen any of Lesnar's BJJ or defense. As I said before, it happened once, why is it sooo unlikely to happen again? I'm not saying that Mir will crush Lesnar. I'm positive that if Mir wins, it won't be easy, hell it will be much harder than the first time. But to say that it is so incredibly unlikely just seems like kind of an ignorant and presumptuous comment to make.

Also, I think Rampage and Rashad would be an interesting fight. Rampage has the punching power and Rashad has the speed. I would rather see Rampage win that, but it would be good.

  46. steve

    December 29, 2008 at 11:12 am

That is hilarious how tims throws around the word experince and Lesnar in the same sentence. Soryy but 2 fights and 8 months of training arent gonna do him any good when the fight hits the ground again. Like Ryan S said Tim how the hell is it impossible for Mir to catch him in another submission. I bet u think he got lucky the first time too.But also we all know how much of a crush Tim has on Lesnar. Hell he is the guy who thinks he could beat Fedor. Oh wait fedor isnt good b/c he dont fight to the death and he isnt a soldier;) My point is that if Lesnar has already lost to him once and it wouldnt be much of an upset to beat him again.

  47. whodini

    December 29, 2008 at 11:38 am

as long as he dont get decked by a jab right? hee hee

  48. Ryan S

    December 29, 2008 at 12:57 pm

Also, you can't call that submission Mir got on him luck because you could see him setting up for it before Lesnar even did that wierd jumping thing. Fuck it, this is a repetitive arguement that isn't going to go anywhere is either direction.

  49. MW74

    December 29, 2008 at 3:05 pm

Ryan, you have to admit that when mir took that first shot from lesnar, he mos' def looked surprised as hell… like he didn't expect to get hit that hard…then we saw him go unscathed in the nog fight(omigawd) I KNOW that wont happen in the rematch mir v brock 2…and if brock wasn't such a green rook in that fight he NEVER leaves that leg in there and waits for mir to stand up again…just to knock him down…i don't think he's gonna fall for that again and I don't believe mir could take his punches in trade for trade fashion…by the way…did you see him drag mir about 4 feet thru the air when he got caught and jumped…that WAS some funny *@$$ $#!

  50. Morey

    December 29, 2008 at 3:57 pm

I don't see how anyone can deny that Lesnar has power in his punches. Mir might have fallen more than Lesnar knocked him down the second time. But you cant deny that after just a couple of minutes he had Mirs face looking the worst I've seen it after a fight. Lesnar is still a little awkward on the feet but if he hits you and the chin or behind the ears, its lights out.
