DAMN Rashad got KTFO'd. Machida is a dog. I cant believe that. No more doubting him for me. I thought he could outpoint him but to put him away like that. Damn I am very impressed.

Rampage is gonna have a tough time against Machida. He is so hard to figure out. Can Machida put Rampage out like that? I dont know but I sure as fuck wanna find out:)

wow i think everyone just underestimates and makes fun of machida too much. tonight, he showed that he can compete with the best… now that he is the new champion. machida is going to be tough to beat because of his awkward style. he has pretty much a who's who on his resume, beating penn, franklin, etc. already. i don't think rampage can beat machida. machida's weird movements won't suit rampage.

  13. steve

    May 23, 2009 at 3:56 pm

Dude Krystof is soft. He CAN NOT compete with the top 205ers in the UFC. He has bad stand up compared to almost any of the top guys in the top 10. Watch him vs Ben Rothwell. I know rothwell is HW but dang he could have put up a little bit more of a fight than that. I think he is a good gate keeper for the 205 in UFC. Waiting for him to prove me wrong.

    May 23, 2009 at 4:19 pm

Krystof reminds me ALOT of Keith Jardine, Serra vs Hughes… i expected more fireworks. Machida vs Rashad wow is all i gotta say i was rooting for machida but he blew me away yet again, i thought he was going to have a harder time with rashad but he DOMINATED rashad alot easier than expected, awesome performance.

    May 23, 2009 at 4:21 pm

i think krystof is pretty solid.

machida is a complete fighter. i guess thats what you would call a new breed of mma fighter whos complete at all levels. rashad didn't take risks tonight and just get in there and bang. that would have been his best chance. i hope rampage learned something and doesn't come in conservative so machida picks him apart.

at one point late in the second serra was trying to start a street scrap with hughes. thats what i wanted to see two guys throwing hard punches. it was kind of disappointing.

machida vs. silva has to happen now.

  18. steve

    May 23, 2009 at 6:12 pm

I think Hughes should retire. I think he will just get KO'd if he fights a top 170 lb fighter. He just doesnt have the stand up game to really do anything leaving him with only wrestling. Very boring but I am glad that he won. Just think he has been passed up as far as skills go. He cant dominate guys now since the sport has evolved.

first of all im drunk but ive seen some serious stupidity on this website.

    1. Machida is gunna keep his title for a long long time and if rampage comes marching forward not checking leg kicks like he always does he is gunna get eaten alive. he coulda won the title again if he wasnt injured and faught rashad in the first place (maybe) but who cares so could have karo supposedly way back when.

    2. I thought serra actually beat hughes. first round serra dropped hughes with a bomb and won that round in my oppinion. second round hughes won with top control and throwing bombs. Third round hughes was on top longer but who cares? he landed NO PUNCHES. Serra got a sick throw at the end and landed two bombs when hughes was on his back. HUGHES got a gift for sure and serra secured himself as a contender by taking it to hughes imo.

    3. Hats off to Edgar he pulled that dominating win out of nowhere and really took it to sherk i couldnt believe it.

    4. that guillotine miller had sonnen in was deep in the first round i was impressed sonnen faught through and pulled out the win.

    5. way to have no ground game pat berry.

    6. Mcfedries is a savage and should be feared by anyone in the middleweight division who doesnt have good takedowns and a ground game.

    7. IM DRUNK GOODNIGHT

I agree that Machida would beat pretty much anyone right now. I think Rampage is pretty similar in style to Evans and look what happened there. Machida is just like GSP and Silva right now in that they’re all peaking at the right time. I think it’s an exciting time in the UFC, and MMA in general.

But one prediction for y’all…keep an eye on Krzysztof…he’s coming up and coming on strong.

is it me or is Sean Sherks arms too short ..seems like he swung alot but his arms seemed too short to hit anything … i saw that in his last fight

  22. tom

    May 24, 2009 at 1:14 am

I think Jackson Will take it to Machida.. I hate Machida but he did do good last night..

Why did sherk never go for a takedown??other then the last rounds..

Cheal llooked great Verse a very good fighter and only took that fight on 3 weeks

Matt hughes please stop fighting, and dont fuck up your record..

  23. tom

Chris Leban vs DREW that would be a sick fight

  24. tom

    May 24, 2009 at 1:17 am

SDteve Krystof did well Verse Big Ben rothwell if you ask me, he was winning the fight every were just got caought…For she he isnt ready for 10 ten light heavy weight fighters but they should start making him fight some good names ppl

evans is a bitch and machida is for real believe it now rampage will not get out of round one

  26. patrick bateman

    May 24, 2009 at 1:48 am

anderson silva is more beatable than machida but the 2 will never face each other as they are better friends than jardine/evans who fought once but not again

  27. tom

    May 24, 2009 at 3:16 am

Rampage isnt going to be no bitch like Evans.. Madica cant handle rampage pwoer and Rampage will bum rish the NIga and put some hands on him..

Rashed did nothin..WTF Rashed is A way better wrestler then strikeer, he should have Shoot more on the legs instead of terying to throw punches

  28. derek

    May 24, 2009 at 3:26 am

silva vs machida will never happen best of friends

  29. Tim

    May 24, 2009 at 3:28 am

Rashad gets KTFO big time….he wilted like a freaking flower after an acid storm and then just fell down silly..it was freaking awesome. I do not like Rashad and he deserved the beating Machida gave him.

Machida and Rampage will be good and who knows will win that fight Rampage has the experience edge, honestly i dont care but i will be goiing for rampage.

    Hughes needs to retire…bottom line.

Sherk you made all of us Caveman Training guys look bad last night…you did even go for a damn takedown…

Silva Vs Machida will only happen if both men get 100 million for the fight and that just isnt going to happen.

  30. Markito

    May 24, 2009 at 3:45 am

I agree tom, rampage is no bitch and he got a ton of experience fighting guys similar to machida, but that being said it will take a near perfect showing for him to win or at least a well place right hand on machidas chin. Machida has looked dominant in his last couple fights while rampage has had mixed results since he lost to forest.

WTF happened to nover man……. he fuckin sucks and i thought he was the best prospect out of last season

  31. tom

    May 24, 2009 at 3:58 am

    Good point Markito..

Novers fight got stopoed early thats what his oppent even said..But i havent seen it yet, i loved Nover on the show ha

markito how exactly does rampage have tons of experience fighting guys like machida? who are u talking about? there is nobody out there like machida.

  34. whodini

    May 24, 2009 at 6:38 am

finally we get to see ” SHITHEAD ” Rashad Evans go out like the punk he is ..i dont think he ever hit Machida ..he had nothing for Machida .. i mean absolutley nothing i loved it ..

  35. patrick bateman

    May 24, 2009 at 7:15 am

Rampage is not speedy just powerful so how does anyone think he will be able to touch Machida if a very quick and fast Evans could not. Rampage has experience but will be embarrassed just like everyone else Lyoto fights. Forrest leg kicked the shit out of Rampage has anyone seen Machida's devastating kicks lately. this one will not be close.

  36. Oswald Gobblecock

    May 24, 2009 at 7:29 am

Exactly, Machida is way too fast for Rampage but Rampage will be harder to KO than Rashad aka "Sugar". lol

  37. kom34

    May 24, 2009 at 1:03 pm

yeah rampage is going to have to come in with a good ass gameplan to beat machida. i don't think thats easy to do when the guy never loses a round. rashad didn't do much but he got a good leg kick in on machidas midsection. machida didn't even flinch. drinking his own piss must give him some super powers.

  38. dane drebin

    May 24, 2009 at 1:09 pm

oswald i dunno rampage might be easier to ko rashad took some huge shots in that fight. whos chin is better is speculation at this point. i would rather see rampage face rashad for the number 1 contendership hats the fight i really wanna see.

  39. bryan

    May 25, 2009 at 5:41 am

i think serra got the shaft on that decision…hughes is the most boring fighter to watch…serra hit him more time from the top in twenty seconds than hughes did in the whole second round

  40. Ryan S

    May 25, 2009 at 10:50 am

I like Rampage but I think this fight might end the same way as Rashad, but I will make no assumptions. Rampage is great, but he has been knocked out before, a couple times, and in my opinion he does not have the speed that Rashad has. I think speed plays a huge factor with Machida in beating him to his leap-attack and his lean back. But Rampage will make it a good fight. I also thought Hughes vs Serra would be better, and I agree with Dane that Serra should have won, but I don't think Serra should be counted out. He put up a great fight, on the feet and on the ground. Not only did Hughes not really land anything productive on his feet or on the ground, but he also didn't even attempt a submission (correct me if I'm wrong). Hughes needs to either evolve or retire because his one dimensional style will either lead to losses or boring control wins, wither way making him a fan least-favorite. I was also impressed with Drew Mcfedries

  41. Alex Tee

    May 25, 2009 at 11:30 pm

LMAO at anyone coming on here thinking Serra should of got the desicion.

All Serra did in the whole fight was catch Hughes with an illegal head butt at the start of round one, and get one good throw down right at the end of round 3. Matt Hughes completely dominated the entire rest of that fight and was the deserved winner.

Good ridance to Matt Serra, his record is patchy at best and he will never be a legend like Matt Hughes.

maybe u forgot dane but rampage faught all types of chinks in pride bro he was fightin a karate master every fuckin month

  43. markito

    May 26, 2009 at 12:38 pm

that being said i still think machida will win

  44. dane drebin

    May 26, 2009 at 1:25 pm

he didnt fight anyone like machida who is as good at combat karate, sumo, sick jui jitsui, and as fast. Karate is just one part of machidas game. his karate shows because he's so good at everything else. Nobody's faced anyone like machida.

  45. mark

    May 28, 2009 at 6:28 am

i don't like serra or hughes, but i went for hughes. good thing i did!

now – the rashad vs machida fight.. i like both of them, but like rashad more. It was saddening to see him get knocked out, albeit the KO was impressive.

my only critique: Lyoto Machida. The most elusive fighter in UFC history – because he's almost always backpedalling. Not actively engaging. Being REactive as opposed to proactive (watch the Tito Ortiz fight). When he gets the strikes, they are nice, but honestly he's kinda boring to watch.

Even though i'm not a huge fan of Rampage, I would hope he wins. He is a more distinguished fighter with a more impressive list of people he's beaten compared to Machida (in terms of amazing fighters they went against). Most of Lyoto's wins are by decision. Rampage has beaten Liddell (twice!), Wanderlei, Dan Henderson, etc. Rampage has more distinguished wins. BUT – how will he do against Machida's fighting style?

It's like they say. Nobody is unbeatable. When the unbeatable person is beaten, it's usually an epic beating.

  46. sill

    May 29, 2009 at 5:22 pm

Machida is not always backpedaling. he is a very active counter-striker. constantly feinting and confusing and frustrating other fighters (watch the tito ortiz fight). He has very impressive and accurate striking skills. The fact that rampage beats chuck is no surprise, Chucks been doin exactly what he likes his opponents to do and that's chase him around the ring, and he wonders why he's getting ktfo so much lately. I think he's lost the ability to take a good one to the jaw. Same goes for Wanderlei. And It's so ridiculous to me when people say machida hasn't beaten the same calibur of fighter as someone else. Do people not even look at Machida's record? He's beaten some of the best. Machida is exciting for me to watch because I like a smart fight better than a stupid one….to an extent.(the anderson v leites crap was some bs). I would much rather see someone go into a ring like fuckin neo, dodging punches left and right and deliver the beatings that lyoto is capable of than see 2 gorilla lookin mother fuckers do nothin but take power punches at each other and see who's sleepin first. For me a smart fight is a better fight. If they are as active as Machida and it still goes to round 3/5 all the better, because then we've just seen that many rounds of dominance.

All that even said, we will not be seeing a rampage vs machida fight any time soon anyways….

    May 29, 2009 at 5:37 pm

ya machidas Ko'd Franklin, Thiago silva, and rashad and also beat Bj penn, Tito Ortiz, Soko, And Stephan bonnar. Very impressive without a loss.

I love watching him fight his footwork is amazing.
