UFC 98: Houston Alexander Off Card With Injury (UPDATE)

The UFC has confirmed that UFC light heavyweight Houston Alexander has been forced out of his UFC 98 fight with Andre Gusmao (5-1), due to a broken hand he suffered while training.

The UFC is expected to announce a replacement fighter to face Gusmao on the UFC 98 under card.

Alexander, 2-3 in the UFC, is in a must win situation. Another loss in the UFC could add the Nebraska native to a growing list of fighters dropped by the organization.

UPDATE
Krzysztof Soszynski will replace Houston Alexander and take on Andre Gusmao on the preliminary card of UFC 98.

    ugh…so much potential with this guy. he was so exciting at the beginning, but a 2-3 record, and a "ding ding…punch…KO" from Irvin leads me to not believe the hype.

    yeah he seemed to be something at first but he really just can't cut it with the big dogs

    I had a feeling from the beginning that Alexander was just a flash in the pan. The man definitely has some power behind his punches, but I didn't expect him to last too long.

    However, I am VERY excited to see Soszynski fighting again so soon!
