The UFC announced today UFC 99 “The Comback” at a press conference in Cologne Germany. Headlining the card will be former UFC middleweight champion Rich “Ace” Franklin taking on PRIDE veteran Wanderlei Silva at a catchweight of 195lbs.

UFC President Dana White:

“June 13, 2009, is a huge day in the history of the UFC. It has been a long time coming, but the best fighters on the planet are finally heading to Germany for our first event ever in mainland Europe … We are coming with a stacked card and a unique main event. Rich Franklin v Wanderlei Silva is another of those dream fights fans never thought they’d get to see – but we are making it happen in Germany.”

“Everyone knows Rich moved up to light heavyweight a couple of fights ago while Wanderlei is planning on fighting at 185lbs from now on, but this fight is too exciting a match not to happen and both these guys deserve a ton of credit for taking this fight at 195lbs.”

Tickets for the event go on sale next Monday to UFC Fight Club members.

this is a good card, i am kinda suprized since the overseas events are usually weak, with that said i think this should be the co main event with one more big fight this card will be stacked plus both guys are coming off a loss.

With this one in Germany they needed a major draw and frankly BJ wouldnt be the kind of draw that Silva would be as he is an international star.

David Terrell has tried to make a comeback but has been injuried not once not twice but thats right 3 times having had to pull out of each. He pulled out 2 times against Okami in 2006 I believe and then in 2007 he was supposed to fight Ed Herman at UFC 78 and got hurt training. So yeah thats pretty much what happened to him. INJURY.
