Andrei Arlovski loses title shot

Accordingo to an article in the Chicago Sun, Dana White stated that Andrei “Pitbull” Arlovski is not next in line for a title shot against the winner of Randy Couture vs. Gabriel Gonzaga. Dana White previously stated that Arloveski will get a title shot with a win over Fabricio Werdum. Dana’s reason for this change, was the lackluster performance by Arlovski at UFC 70. Arlovski did just enough to win his fight against Fabricio Werdum. He came out strong in the first round, dominating Werdum. The next two rounds were full of Arlovski being cautious and just defending against Werdums attacks. The crowed booed throughout the end of the fight and Arlovski even apologized for his bad performance after the fight.

UFC president Dana White said that he was disappointed with Chicago-based heavyweight Andrei Arlovski’s victory April 21 and that Arlovski is not next in line for a title shot

I think this is unfortunate for Arlovski I mean it was a short while ago that he was looked upon as a dominating heavyweight champ and unbeatable. Dana White was exploiting him and reaping the benefits and because of a close 2 out of 3 loss to Sylvia he's been out of the pic. for what seems like for ever.

Unless you're bringing some of the Pride heavyweights over (Not Fedor cuz that would be embarrassing) I think he desreves the next shot.

Certainly not Sylvia who was terrible and although I would put a million dollars that Cro-Crop could beat Couture you can't give him the next shot after that incredible knokcout performance from Gonzaga.

Give Arlovski a break he deserves the next title shot!

Yeah, his last fight was boring, I'm glad he got punished for that.

Boring is an understatement, he basically pussyfooted around with Fabricio for the last two rounds. He could be great if he were more agressive.
