I'm excited to see Silva fight at 205 but not against Irvin. Out of all the possible match ups at 205!

thanks to afliction we get a great free event, it will be a great night of fights i will watch affliction and record ufn for later, i agree with oswald on this one i love silva fighting at 205 but don't see the point in fighting irvin he should have went for one of the top guys, irvin is dangerous but if silve beats him no big deal he is not a top fighter and if he loses it looks bad and there is so many more lhw's that i would rather see him fight.

You guys all have the same opinion that a lot of people have in the fact that Irvin is no easy win for anyone. He is always a dangerous fight and the risk for anderson to fight him is way greater than the reward. Tom nobody said it wouldnt be a good fight we said that he should fight a bigger named fighter so that if he won it would actually mean something. Maybe they are banking on Anderson to do what Luiz Cane did but not have the knee be illegal. I feel that the fight will end bad for Irvin.

Watch this fight and you will see similarity in a straight right hand and watch how bad the little knee fucks up Irvin. I know he wasnt excpeting it but he wont even see it coming with Anderson. Irvin has ought at 230 lbs so u know he has power but he lacks speed and overall technique which anderson will use to beat him. I give Irvin a 20% chance to win because if he wins it will be catching Anderson with a right hand that hurts him where he will finish him with punches. But that is unlikely with such a well rounded striker. One thing is for sure Sandman will come at him and hopefully test andersons chin. Also why would the UFC almost put together a fight with Wanderlei and Vera. Vera is on a down slope but is very dangerous and Wanderlei is looking for a rematch with chuck ine the next 2 fights. And he has monetum that they should carry into a fight with chuck not put him in with a guy that has more risk than reward. Just makes u wonder what the fuck joe silva is thinking.

silva has his work cut out for him. but he is much faster then sandman. but sandman has alot of power and could catch silva and take him out of the fight. you saw sandman knock out houston alexander and what has to be record timing. i just dont know how you train for a guy like anderson. just hope for the ko. because silva just runs through his opponents with ease.

Dan Hendersen is bigger and stronger than Silva too and James Irvin would need an ambulance after hendo got done with him. I think silva will win KO or TKO in second round after Irvin gets gassed because he has CB Dollaway cardio. However the knockout punch is there and I just think this is a bad fight for silva because if he does lose to irvin then that ices his lght hvy chances because irvin isnt even a top ten guy. Middleweight will be owned by silva for years unless wandi drops down to test him or bisping gets a lil better and gets a shot. The sandman goes night night….

No way bisping is beating Anderson ever. Never happen man. Bisping is good but not elite like Spider. Spider will get beat at 205 probally in blockbuster fight against a very dangerous striker. I think wanderlei shouldnt drop down to 205 but anderson should move up because I like how stacked the 205 lb weight class is. Makes for better match ups and more interesting fights. Henderson really let me down at UFC 82. I was there and he didnt come in with the vicious ground and pound but got him to the ground and laid on him tapping him in the face. I would like to see them rematch though.

i think every buddy wants to see the rematch with A silva and Hedo

Anderson silva is going to embarass sandman irvin. if you wanna be real about it anderson has already fought lightheavy weights. Both rich franklin and Nate Marquardt come into the ring very close to 205 and looked like they would be much stornger and probably were, but anderson silva is light years ahead of people in technique and much stronger than people think. he has incredible defense, bjj, and stand up as well, and he could probaly punch a damn fly of the sandmans ear his accuracy is amazing. He has walked through 3 top notch opponents his last three fights while making them look as if they have no buisness being in the ring with him. James irvin in my opinion is about to get steam rolled. Anderson has beat plenty of guys much better than James Irvin, this fight won't be close.

I wanna see irvin in a 3 round battle instead of a quick knockout or injury. He is a great fighter and is super close to being a serious contender. I think a rematch with T. Silva would be good to see.

steveo silva is bigger than dan look at their staredown and irvin will be a lot bigger than dan. i still think silva will win but ya

    June 24, 2008 at 1:04 pm

Dane. You're right. Silva is f'n huge. Just look at him in the last Elite XC. He was cornering a LHW and looked bigger than that guy. Silva by TKO. No doubt in my mind. So with that said. I'll be watching Affliction on that night.

I think the dream match would have been Silva vs Vera. They're both on the card anyway and a win after moving up to 205 to fight a guy moving down to 205 would cement Silva's claim for best in world p4p.

  20. roy

    June 25, 2008 at 6:45 am

rob that would be a sick match up, i don't know if silva would have wanted that though for his first fight at lhw in the ufc.

you have to take into credit too that anderson silva is fighting ppl loads stronger than him…im positive silva will get the win but i dont think it will be as easy as everyone says

    June 25, 2008 at 8:58 am

i hope its not that easy for him, but i think this one will be

Don;t forget that Anderson is going too be much bigger in 205 , so i think he is going to bee freaking strong an powerfull, and hit harder. Excuse for my english:)
