UFC Fight Night 14: Jesse Taylor vs. CB Dollaway

Dana White has announced that kicked off TUF 7 fighter Jesse Taylor will return to take on runner up CB Dolloway at UFC Fight Night 14 on July 19 from the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

Jesse Taylor was set to take on Amir Sadollah in the TUF 7 Finale, before being kicked off the show for going on a little rampage in a Las Vegas casino.

Hers a clip of UFC president Dana Whites talking about the issue:

“Whoever told you we encouraged them to tear up the house is (an expletive) liar….Nobody ever told them what to do on the show. A lot of guys, they get off the show and they’re embarrassed by what they’ve done. And think about this: I’ve faced a lot of challenges since we’ve had the UFC, but I have a kid (Taylor) who pissed his pants on television and now I have to turn him into a star.”

White said he used to drink and act rowdy when he was in his early 20s and doesn’t want to imagine what he might have done had he been on a television show. But he called the destruction of the house “retarded….there was no sense or purpose to what they did.”

“Without a doubt, the kid deserves another chance….He made himself look like a fool, and he’s aware of that, but everyone deserves another opportunity and we’re going to give it to him. He acted like a moron. He’s embarrassed by it, which he should be, but what he did doesn’t amount to enough to ban him forever. Come on. He was just young and stupid, but at least he seems to have learned from what he did.”

This supports my theory that the UFC wanted CB to win, after he lost to Amir the first time. The UFC had the perfect opportunity to give CB as second chance, when Taylor acted like a drunken fool at their casino.

    A conspiracy maybe?

idk CB is going to be in good shape because he just fight in The finals and he had alot of time to train and Jesse didnt so i think that could hurt Jess

Don't you remember the show? Jesse eats hamburgers and cheese out of the bag and he's in shape! The kid ate nothing but junk and was ripped…I definitely don't think training time will be an issue.

I think we learned as much about Dana White in the Jessie Taylor boot episode: so LAME how for the show, they leave tons of booze laying around and practically encourage the guys to tear the place apart, but they go out and get just a rowdy, and he kicks them off? Sure, Jessie screwed up BIG TIME. And yes, he obviously has a drinking problem… and no, he's no rocket scientist (what athletic genius is?). But Dana lit the match and then kicked Jessie off for fueling the fire. Dana/Zuffa and Co. (Spike?) are as much to blame as anyone!

Glad to see Jessie back on the ticket, today. He's a good guy and obviously has the talent and drive (plus who likes CB anyway?): he deserves the second chance if he's cleaned up his act!
