UFC Offers Fedor A Sweet Deal, M-1 Gets In The Way

fedor finkelchtein

According to the Carmichael Dave of the Carmichael Dave Show, the UFC bowed down to Fedor with a generous contract offer. Here’s what they were offering,

- The UFC offered Fedor a 6 fight, 30 million dollar contract. That’s 5 mil a fight

- The UFC offered Fedor an immediate title shot

- Lesnar/Fedor would be the biggest PPV in MMA history (we assume), and the UFC offered M-1 Global a cut of the PPV on top of Fedor’s purse.

- Fedor was free to wear as many M-1 logoed items as he wished.

- The UFC also relented on allowing Fedor to compete in combat sambo.

Fedor’s apparent handler, M-1 Global (Fedors manager Vadim Finkelstein, pictured above), has apparently refused the offer, unless the UFC agrees to co-promote.

Dave Meltzer gives disappointing update,

The only thing we can say on the subject is that two different sources have told us negotiations between UFC and Fedor have fallen through again

If Fedor doesn’t ditch that iron curtain of a manager, it is un-likely we will ever see Fedor fight in the UFC. Fedor’s own brother, even said so.

If fedor really turned down that deal we will never see him in the UFC. 30 million, M1 gets a cut from the paperview, immediate title shot, and fedor can fight in sambo… what more does M1 want? nobody's gunna co-promote with the ufc EVER especially some piss poor company like M1 that has one good fighter. Go fuck urself M1. I still hope all of this isnt legit and its all to throw us off and then boom on firday ufc announces they signed him but i doubt it. eventually fedor will realize how much shit everyone is talking about him for making this decision and he will come to his senses. Ur never gunna get a better deal anywhere else fedor so its either this or fighting cans for M1 for the rest of your life. if he does just fight for M1 i hope some can pulls a matt serra and knocks his ass out cuz all this hype of him comming to the ufc got me o excited and he has let us all down like this before.

are you kidding me? all that shit would go to fedor and finkel faggot stands in the way and says no. If I were fedor I think I would see by now that this is a company that doesn't have my best interest in mind, and it's time to cut the ties that hold me back. 5 mil a fight is more than any other fighter in the ufc makes per fight.

    god…

    STOP BLAMING FEDOR!

HE HAS NO FUCKING SAY IN WHAT HAPPENS!

no one is blaming fedor.Everyone knows whose fault this is but, Fedor could buy out his own contract and move the fuck on.

Mike. You should also try " LEAVE FEDOR ALONE!" "JUST LEAVE HIM ALOOHOON!" " YOU PEOPLE ARE LUCKY HE EVEN FIGHTS FOR YOU!….BAHHHH-HAAAAA…sniffle" Either he's a man or he isn't….with the kind of jack being thrown at him?!…….NOW THAT'S huggin some nuts! Saying no to the biggest payday of his life and being set for life after 5 fights?!….Finkelstink's pussy better be GOLDEN!

you clearly do not understand business.

Fedor is signed to a contract with M-1

he has no say in the matter whatsoever. is this a good deal for M-1? its a gamble and not a good deal.

it just seems dumb that people want to say that he is a pussy, when the guy has never dodged an opponent.

Fedor is M-1's biggest seller and name, when he fights with Dream etc i expect he makes more money than UFC are offering now, but all being said UFC is the only real option now (other than Dream which will make less money)

UFC/Zuffa aren't even looking into signing Mousasi which for me is fail… a massive one.

Thats not a sweet deal… its an AMAZING deal, 30 mil? who the fuck gets paid that amount in mma? Not only that M-1 gets a cut of the PPV… they wouldn't have to promote that means M-1 spends NO MONEY on the event but still cashes in? and on top of the other stuff they've been offered they still want more?… Its obvious Fedor's manager must go. Even Fedor's brother can see his true intentions.

Fedor is not getting any younger, Finkelstein may very well end up destroying Fedor's carrer and his chance to make as much money as possible.

    July 29, 2009 at 6:21 pm

its a sweet deal for Fedor… but its not for M-1.

M-1 has Fedor right now, who is aging, they need more young fighters of good pedigree (Mousasi is an example) they will only get this with publicity and they won't get that with UFC and no co-promotions.

i hope Finky changes his mind… but i doubt it and its a sad day for MMA

I know Fedor didn't have a choice in the contract, but OMG! WTF! his manager is a retard, in a ouple of years or less there gonna wish they had such a good deal.

  12. Patrick89

    July 29, 2009 at 7:07 pm

I have all the respect for Fedor in the world, but his manager must not have high hopes for fedor in the UFC. He's probly affraid of him losing and destroying the reputation of his money train. Bullshit! I personally would love to see fedor put the smash down on brock Lesner.

  13. Patrick89

    July 29, 2009 at 7:09 pm

By the way……. I hate Lesner.

I seriously doubt that was the offer the UFC made. I would belive that is Finks offer.

Seriously UFC keep the money, most people would rather watch a half dozen good fights where the fighters get paid a bit more. Don't F**** the system up by paying that much.

    July 29, 2009 at 9:17 pm

Fedor is not signed with M-1. He's a co-owner or something to that degree. But for w/e reason he does anything that Fink says.

    but seriously Al, why not?

    Barnett

    Rogers

    Overeem

are just a few names i'd like to see Fedor fight.

    Couture

    Carwin (maybe)

    Mir (maybe)

are the only real fighters i want to see Fedor fight in the UFC. (brock vs Fedor will be a boring ordeal)

haha yea Mike, i've been blinded by Dana White's smack talk for any organization except his…and he's my dad. And I think UFC = MMA, and the fertittas own the casino I work at, the one that didn't go bankrupt…and I'm dating Forrest Griffin's sister, and Randy Couture's son is my best friend.

Or I realize that to be the best, you have to beat the best. I'm a big Fedor fan from the pride days (who's not), but I don't want to see Fedor fighting cans…Oh wait, the roided barnett, the one dimensional rogers, or you know what, Overeem, woohoo! This M1 bullshit getting in the way and its business, I understand that. But the FEDOR fans are getting screwed. Do you want your favorite fighter fighting the best and winning, or fighting the so-so guys and winning? Does he need the UFC to cement his legacy? Not really, it'll still be intact, but I wish he had the drive to continue being the best, but that doesn't seem the case. M1 business is where his hearts at.

    July 30, 2009 at 12:02 am

oh and i'm not ufc nuts Mike…and I just want Fedor to fight Lesnar so he shut him the f*ck up and teach him a lesson he really needs.

  24. Mike

    July 30, 2009 at 12:26 am

Lesnar for me is more one Dimensional than Rogers.

i mean really UFC best HWs? no fucking way, personal opinion… its just no.

Josh may well be a roider but he is STILL #2 and the fight could happen in Japan, surely that makes him Fedor's BIGGEST (skillwise) challenge?

  25. Tim

    July 30, 2009 at 12:48 am

If Fedor really wanted to go to the UFC he would accept this offer and tell M-1 to shove it, your making a profit on this so what its not co-promoting their allowing me to wear M-1 shirts, make millions and you get paperview cuts as well…shut the fuck up M-1 and kiss the UFC's ass and bow down, lets make some fucking money already.

  26. Tim

    July 30, 2009 at 12:52 am

Also by the way if you think Fedor would beat Brock easy you have another thing coming, Brock is legit and a serious threat just like Fedor is to any fighter. If this happens this would be a legendary fight…the new era of MMA and still a rookie Lesnar against the legendary Fedor, shit anything can happen.

  27. T.R.

    July 30, 2009 at 1:09 am

I agree with tim. I also read that Fedor has stake in M-1 as part owner. Fedor not going to the UFC is bullshit for his fans. Coutore could be a big fight, Carwin is a monster and ever improving, cain is a beast, mir is rebounding his career (maybe lol), Everyone wants to see Fedor fight lesnar. And also the possibility of super fights with Machida or the spider at catch weights. And 30 million dollars. Come on…..

  28. MW74

    July 30, 2009 at 1:55 am

At the end of the day, let's face it … Fedor needs what the UFC can offer alot more than UFC needs him. They will continue rolling along like the juggernaught they are and if Fedor ducks the biggest possible paydays of his life(and M-1's) it ABSOLUTELY WILL tarnish his legacy. UFC is the only org. capable of paying him what he deserves, and then some, while securing him the Best Comp consistently. They also hold the only fighters even being argued about being able to beat him….if this is ANY OTHER FIGHTER we are immediately screaming PU$$Y! But because of Fedor's legacy we are looking everywhere else than the man himself to point the finger. And Mike, the #1 Rule of Business is MAKE MONEY!….turning down 30 mill for a five fight deal PLUS a cut of the largest MMA ppv gates EVER?! and M-1 gets to promote their name by pimping it out before, during and afetr the fight with Fedor wearing it…flimsy!

  29. Tim

    July 30, 2009 at 2:49 am

I never thought the UFC would offer something like this. This just goes to Prove that Dana and the UFC really want to give the fans great fights and obviously make money but deep down inside i am sure that Dana wants Fedor to come to the UFC and hopes that Lesnar will beat him which would just blow his mind and make him even more money.

Bottom line is this M-1 is stupid to turn this down and i will stick with the UFC for not co-promoting with anyone. They built their business and deserve not to share it with anyone else. Now if M-1 wants to co-promote just Fedor fights and only his fights meaning they would announce before the fight and this fight is co-promoted with M-1 Global or something like that, then i am down for that. But i am sure M-1 wants to co-promote the whole damn show whenever Fedor is fighting. M-1 is stupid for not taking this offer and Fedor is even stupier for not standing up for himself, he knows this is a killer offer and if this doesnt go through, FEDOR IS SIMPLY A FUCKING PUSSY FOR NOT STANDING UP FOR HIMSELF AND TELLING M-1 HE WANTS TO MAKE A DEAL.

    July 30, 2009 at 3:57 am

I'd post a comment, but its hardly worth it… people have made up there minds (blind leading the blind!) however i will make a few points.

    A. there is no proof that Fedor was offered that deal.

    B. UFC KNOW what M-1 Global want, yet they won't give it and offer something that wasn't that important (WAY too much cash). its like me going to a burger joint asking for a burger and coming out with no burger but lots of fries and a drink!

    C. Fedor does not need and never has needed the UFC. (I'll bet my bottom dollar that Fedor is only fighting now to progress M-1 Global). Guy is a multi millionaire.

    D. Money talks…. to Arseholes. i mean really, its always the dicks who do crap for money. (some people actually have other things in mind).

    E. there are still fighters out there good enough for Fedor to fight and any promotion for Fedor is promotion for M-1 Global (outside the UFC)

    F. I'll say it again in case you missed it. there is a good chance that this "deal" is bullshit, and wasn't actually offered.

    July 30, 2009 at 4:16 am

Like am I getting a lot of fries and a drink, or just one thing of fries. Cause If i ask for a burger and get three big fries and a drink, i think I'd be ok with that. And I'm seriously talking about food and not mma deals. So f-ing hungry here at work!

  34. STEVEO

    July 30, 2009 at 4:16 am

i find it hard to believe 5 mil a fight is unprecedented, thats double what any fighter has ever made, even chuck in his prime was like 1 or 1.5, thats a crazy number, I am with Mike on this one, this is all likely rumor, that deal is pretty fuckin sweet to be saying no.

Mike, YOU were the one who stated that I didn't understand BUSINESS. Now, all of a sudden it's about Not giving Finkelstink and M-1 TOP BILLING?! IS THAT ALL? Welllll they have given us….ummmm…wait. What have they done?….Ab-so-f@#kin-lutely nothing! Take your one great fighter and his tin can opponents and shove it! It's like that one girl in junior high who everyone thought was just the S#!t…after she goes her own way…you move on to the next level and say" Wow, back then she was IT!…But now, LOOK AT ______ "(insert name of hottie here.) AFRAIDOR will go attached to Finkelstink's vagina, and MMA and the biggest and baddest HW's just roll along fine without the two of them.

  37. Tim

    July 30, 2009 at 7:22 am

First Thing first what makes you think Fedor is a multi millionaire when he made 1 mil in affliction was his top pay ever? Fedor isnt a multi Millionaire by any means, he may have a few million but Multi meaning 10 plus million in his bank account right now….FUCK NO he hasnt even made that much money..and yes when you say Multi Millionaire that means having 10 plus million in your acct as of now, which i can only think of two people in MMA who might have that well one for sure Brock Lesnar has probably 15 million at least sitting around in bank accounts. Randy Couture might have 10 million or so as well think about the gyms he owns etc….the revenue from that and pay days and sponsors. Chuck Liddell probably has 5 or 6 million saved up at least.

THE UFC DOESNT NEED FEDOR AND THATS THE POINT, FEDOR NEEDS THE UFC MORE THAN THEY NEED HIM, WITH OR WITHOUT FEDOR THE UFC WILL STILL MAKE MILLIONS AND DOMINATE THE MMA WORLD!!!

FROM A PURE MMA STANDPOINT, M-1 NEEDS TO MAKE A DEAL WITH THE UFC AND GIVE THE MMA WORLD WHAT THEY WANT…BOTTOM LINE IS THIS IF THIS OFFER IS TRUE AND M-1 SAYS NO AND FEDOR DOESNT STEP IN AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, THEN FEDOR IS FUCKING STUPID AND A DAMN PUSSY AS THERE IS NO OTHER REASON NOT TO SIGN THIS CONTRACT AND FIGHT SOME OF THE BEST MMA FIGHTERS AND FUTURE HALL OF FAMERS AND A CHANCE TO SECURE AND AND PUT AN END TO THE SO CALLED FEDOR HYPE OF BEING NOT AS GOOD AS MANY CONSIDER HIM TO BE.

being a multi millionaire does not mean you have 10 mill, just more than a couple. and i am sure fedor is rich and has huge endorsement deals around the world and on top of that he dosn't seem to care about money and lives very humble. if th eoffer the ufc gave is true they are stupid to turn it down, m-1 and fedor, but apparently it was not offered and that was just some pr work for the ufc. but who knows the truth?

  40. Tim

    July 30, 2009 at 7:53 am

Technically more than 1 million means multi milliaire but not by Forbs standards being considered a multi millionaire mean having 10 plus mil in the bank. Doesnt matter just trying to prove a inrepubtable point.

Whether this is true or not, Fedor needs to sign with the UFC end of story otherwise he is simply dodging real competition.

Hey Mike…as far as your earlier point; -"Money talks…. to Arseholes. its always the dicks who do crap for money."- ….????? HUH! What else do these guys fight for? What else should they fight for?!" It is a business after all, right?…..NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, Boxing

and MMA. If they took away your your ability to make a living, would you still work?….You do work, don't you?

  42. roy

    July 30, 2009 at 9:00 am

fedor is not dodging anyone, if they really offered him what they said than fedor and his managment are idiots, but he is afraid of no one.but like the report said it was never that high of a offer the the source for the offer was a radio show that is pro ufc.

  43. MW74

    July 30, 2009 at 9:07 am

roy, even in his interview, finkelstink says the ONLY way they come to a deal is if they CO-PROMOTE. He KNOWS dana and zuffa would never agree to that and that's exactly why he says it. He knows if he came up with a figure, Dana would meet it. This way he just has to say "well, they won't give us what I want" and if they do…then they look like Vadim's bitches…..like Fedor if he doesn't take this offer or whatever jack they're throwing at him. I'm sorry, but it looks like Vadim is not so confident in is ONE fighter's abilities, where as he would allow him to agree to a deal with UFC…..How fedor doesn't see that is well beyond me.

  44. MW74

    July 30, 2009 at 9:38 am

Like I said before, Dan White's presser is tomorrow and we'll hear exactly what WAS offerred. I tend to believe it is considerably less than the 30 mil for 6 fights right off the bat offer we've heard….but if what even half of that it's a tremendous offer….. and why, just why-doesn't fukktardinstein put a $$$ number on what he thinks co-promotion is worth? Afraid someone will match it so they don't have that ONE THING to hide behind…..imnsho……The Saga Continues Tomorrow…..:)
