Randy Couture returns to the UFC

Announced today during a UFC conference call today, Randy “The Natural” Couture will return to the cage to face Brock Lesnar at UFC 91 on Nov. 15 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. (Not Portland, OR)

The winner will be named the UFC heavyweight champion and take on the winner of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Frank Mir. Nogueira is still considered the UFC interim heavyweight champion after defeating Tim Sylvia at UFC 81 “Breaking Point”.

recon marine?? lies. A recon Marine wouldn't be insecure enough to brag about it on a comment board. Pathetic.

Seriously you have no idea who your talking to or what your even saying…first off i wasnt bragging i was merley stating who i am as i am one of many that defend your damn freedom to speak your mind and sharing that iahve been in a few true wars myself and fights as well. Just proving a point and honestly i can care less if you believe me cause i have the truth of who i am and was in my garage and attic. So besides that Mir is a great BJJ one of the best in the UFC HWGHT, to say he is the best is my opinion as does everyone says Fedor is the best…therir just opinions and mean nothing cause no matter how good you think you are there is always someone better than you at something…thats just how life goes. So Lesnar is not the best, Randy is not the Best and Fedor is not the best but they are all great fighters and that is my opinion and no one knows who is the best fighter or can say it truthfully as that question can never be answered unless one fighter has beaten every single person in there wieght class from all over the world and has an undeafeted record than you can classify yourself as the best in the world.

If i recall Fedor is not undefeated and a loss is a loss no matter how you look at it…from your own words my friend. So he isnt the best….but he is very good.

fedor is the best hw and has not lost in a long time that fight was early in his career and it was a illegal elbow that caused it but no matter it still went down as a loss, i think fedor has proven he is the best by beating everyone he has face(he beat that guy in a rematch) so he has beaten everyone he has faced, mir is not the best bjj hw nog is, lesnar may be the best one day but he has not done it yet fedor has.

I am no where close to saying that Lesnar is the best maybe one day he will be up there but right now he alot of talent and is on his way to being great if he can prove and develope his skills. anyways Fedor isnt the best as he is arguably the best meaning its an opinion and Fedor hasnt faced real comp in awhile…Tim Sylvia that was a joke but he proved he belongs in the top 5 for sure, i believe lesnar is top 10 at this time and even Fedor said how impressed he is with Lesnar and Lesnar was right to say something during that call when it was about Him and Couture and Not Fedor not to mention he knows how to create chaos and draw heat which makes money ala Tito.

i would agree with you that lesnar probally belongs in the top ten but does anyone have him ranked yet?and isn't his record 2-1? losing to mir who is not ranked and beating a tough but unranked herring doesn't real put you up there but i am sure he could beat some top ten guys he just has to do it first.

TIM you also say Lesnars wrestling skills surpass Randy's BY FAR…Did you know Randy was a three-time Olympian (1988, 1992 and 1996); a semifinalist at the 2000 Olympic Trials; a three-time (NCAA) Division-I All-American and a two-time NCAA Division-I runner-up at Oklahoma State University. In 1992 he was the Division-1 runner-up coming in second after Mark Kerr.

    I'd say thats pretty comparable.

I don't really want to join this ridiculous typing war, but here it is:

TIM- stop saying you were in the marines. I couldn't say you are or aren't, and I take your word for it, but no one can see proof, so no one will believe.

As I stand, My friend fights for Extreme Couture and has rolled with Couture, so I am a huge fan of his. BUT, I still think Lesnar can take it by getting Randy to the ground and holding him down. I think technically Randy could win, but I think Lesnar will be able to subdue and pound on Randy, not giving Randy the ability to get very technical. I really hope I am wrong though, because I would much rather see Randy with his hand in the air at the end.

TIM you are really Lesnar posing under a superficial name right. Thats it. I figured it out.

You got me..HAHAH ya thats all Lesnar has better to do then to type thiw crap. Anyhow Yes i do know Randy's background but why dont you copy it with the truth per Wikepedia—Randy was a three-time Olympic team alternate (1988, 1992 and 1996); a semifinalist at the 2000 Olympic Trials; a three-time National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division-I All-American and a two-time NCAA Division-I runner-up at Oklahoma State University.[2] In 1992 he was the Division-1 runner up at 190 pounds coming in second after Mark Kerr…HMMM no where did it say Randy WON A MEDAL he was only an alternate..did you know that LEsnar was training for the 2000 olympics as an actual memmber of team USA but decided to go into pro wrestling and make millions. Also IT clearly said Randy was an Alternate and RUNNER UP to not a HWGHT a 190 pound wieght class…Lesnar wrestled at HWGHT see his accomplishments per Wikepedia–Lesnar Amateur wrestling

North Dakota State University's annual Bison tournament

    1997 winner: Heavyweight

    1998 winner: Heavyweight

    1999 winner: Heavyweight

    1998 Junior College National Champion

    2-Time Big Ten Title (1999-2000)

    1999 NCAA Division I runner-up

Ranked the #1 Heavyweight in the Big Ten (2000)

    2000 NCAA Division I Champion

2-Time NJCAA All-American with a record of 106-5 overall in four years of college…That is a hell of alot more impressive than Randy's wrestling background my friend but not taking it away from him is was a great wrestler as well just that Lesnar is much better by far wether you agree with me or not its a fact so it will be interesting fight but i see Lesnar coming out with the Win based upon his abilities and the fact that Randy is coming in at 225 and lesnar will be about 270-80 come fight time and when you have a man who has a great wrestling base and is strong and fast i dont see Randy being able to be technical with him..but that is just my opinion. we will have to wait and see Nov 15…

Can't we all just get along??? Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I think that Lesnar is a freak with God-given physical strength. While Randy gets all of my respect and I am going to root for Randy, this is not a good match for Randy. The problem for Randy is that they share the same strengths. I think Lesnar is going to get a boring 5 round win. He is going to take him down and pound him. Because of their size difference, Randy is not going to be able to stop him. I have always been taught that "when there is equal talent/skill, the bigger opponent wins"…now I am not saying that they are equally tallented in terms of MMA, but they probably are equal in terms of wrestling. If Randy was better at submissions, he could catch him…which is why Nog will beat Lesnar. The only way I see Randy winning is via submission. Randy is known for putting together great gameplans… so maybe he is studying submissions 24/7. If he does, he may win, other than that, althought Randy is a better MMA fighter, Lesnar wins because of his physical strength and size.

LOL yes i know Randy's background and i like to watch him fight but he is overmatched and like bussiness man says the bigger man usually wins when the skills are the same or better. I agree i am done and peace to you as well…it was entertaining.
