UFC President Dana White Extends A TUF Offer To Kimbo Slice

At the post UFC 90 press conference, UFC president Dana White extends an olive branch to Kimbo Slice, offering him a spot on a future Heavyweight edition of The Ultimate Fighter reality show. Although, White seams serious about the offer, he also took some shot at Slice’s athletic abilities before making it.

“What has the guy done to deserve to be in the UFC? Nothing. I don’t consider him a real athlete or anything. He won’t win The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). The offer is out there if he wants to take it and he won’t win it. I might [put a heavyweight show together just for him].”

Kimbo would get beaten like a government mule, business wise i have to give credit to Dana he is no dummy he is setting this up if it happens and Kimbo takes the offer…imagine the ratings of the TUF show, they would go through the roof to see how Kimbo does and if he doesnt make it well Dana proves his point again and he loses nothing…if somehow Kimbo wins or doesn nominally well then he brings him to the UFC which will draw big ratings as well and wether he does good or not from there on out is completlty in Dana and the UFC's favor…this is a win win situation for Dana. But i dont think Kimbo would take it as he wants the money and the UFC will not give him 500K a fight he is not worth it hell Brock dont even get that and he is a much better fighter than kimbo ever will be. I see Kimbo going to Japan or maybe Affliction as Japan doesnt care about records they are more into the marketing persona and the showmanship era or entertainers. Plus he will get more money in Japan than here.

Tim, you are so right all the way around. I couldn't have said it better myself…so I won't. I will add that Kimbo woundn't do it because his MMA ego is bigger than his ability.

Haha. I wish this could happen. Kimbo on TUF would be fun to watch.

If kimbo did take the offer some crazy shit would go down in the TUF house for sure. That would be fun to watch.

You mean i actually have everyone agreeing with me…wow that is a first….and yes i had to throw brock in the mix as i hate when people compare the two as there is no comparing to be done. Anyways the MMA world will do just fine with or without Kimbo but it would be interesting to see how he does on TUF, but he would either get cut or beaten or really is. Well Said MMA dude…. i agree.

could you imagine Kimbo in that little bunk above like a 20 year old dude with a died blonde mohawk. Kimbo throwing chairs in the pool lol

    October 27, 2008 at 7:48 am

That would be awesome and then having Dana in his face telling him how crappy of a fighter he really is but that would only happen if he made it in the house.

th reason white would invite Kimbwould be becasue kimbo Fans Are not REAL MMA FANS would stat to watch TUF more so in all the only reaon they invite him would be for the cable ratings to go up..

Of course Dana wants Kimbo on the show. The ratings arent that great but with Kimbo on the show the ratings would defintely go up.

Tim, I agree completely with you as well. Kimbo losing on the show would expose his extreme lack of knowledge in MMA and IF he actually did win, he would deserve the spot. I think we can safely say that he wouldn't win, but it is possible. Even if he did win though, I don't think his presence in the UFC would last long after. I say IF he goes on the show and IF he wins, Lesnar should be his first fight on his contract. I think Lesnar would happily take that fight.

The ratings on TUF are awesome for spike tv. It's not like NBC or CBS.

it's not a bad idea. the HW division of the UFC is the weaker coompared to affliction. yes, we have rising stars (carwin, lesnar, velazquez, dos santos), but the only true tested HW contenders are frank mir, nog, and randy couture. nog-mir is already set up. randy-lesnar is already set up. once those winners fight each other, who is really left??? the rising stars?

I know the UFC needs to get better HWGHTS but when you really think about it…the HWGHT division anywhere really isnt that strong besides a few good fighters..Affliction has no one really except a few good fighters just the like the UFC given they have more with better fighters. Being a HWGHT is tough in MMA period and there are not to many that are true HWGHTS people like Lesnar who could never make a 205lbs jump so he is stuck at HWGHT and can dominate based upon his natural size…Carwin who is 265 also is another example but he no where near the overall size of lesnar…that man is just HUGE.

"Carwin who is 265 also is another example but he no where near the overall size of lesnar…that man is just HUGE."

In Carwin's last fight Rogan stated that Carwin had to get special order 5XL gloves. I believe Lesnar has 4XL. Do the math.

Carwin and Lesnar deserve to be in their own weight division. I can't wait to see them fight each other.

Fuck size. Lesnar is a better wrestler than Carwin, no doubt, but which is physically stronger and which has better stand up? Carwin is big and looks strong, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I think those two would make a good fight.

At first I didn't hate Kimbo for the hype and the fact that some idiots decided to throw money after him. Most guys would die for that kind of cash and to a certain extent, it seemed like sour grapes the way they talked about him, like it was his fault for being a pop culture phenom.

But that was before I realized all at the same time that he was not only a COMPLETE FRAUD on the fighting side of things, but that we was a clueless, cocky bastard that believed his own hype. I thought he actually loved the fight game and even though he sucked, he was genuinely working at getting better. And what was he supposed to do, NOT take the money? But when he said "It's all good!" after going out like Glass Joe from Nintendo, I realized he was a buster.

Dana should stay far away from him. There's nothing left to expose. It's not like he's Mike Tyson, who was legitimately a killer at one point and who people would keep paying to see based on former greatness or the fact that he might still have one sick uppercut-haymaker left in him. He's not even like Butterbean, someone people would watch b/c he's entertaining and a fun story. Kimbo's more like Jose Canseco. If Dana brings Kimbo to TUF, he should have him and Canseco be the captains, have Jake the Snake Roberts, Jonny Fairplay, and Danny Bonaduce on it, let Sarah Palin be the ring girl. Then Dana should put on some floppy shoes and a squirt-flower then have a cross-over event w/ Vince McMahon. Let Kimbo disappear like the wisp of smoke he is.

I dont know about Carwin having size 5xl gloves my friend as all i know is Carwin started fightin in the UFC well before Lesnar did and when Lesnar came aboard they made serious note for UFC having to special order sie 4XL gloves and no one in the history of the UFC has ever worn that size glove or larger, however there have been a few others in the MMA world who have worn sixe 4xl but that was the biggest size ever for the UFC and since Carwin was with the UFC before Lesnar was by a year i believe so wouldnt that put Lesnar as wearing the biggest glove in UFC history? i think so unless you can prove me wrong and please do as i am 95% sure about this.

I agree MBDsta…Kimbo was street royalty, came off the streets to make cash and was impersinating an MMA fighter from day 1, Altough i think that someone stated thattt Dana is trying to get the Kimbo followers basically the non intelligent MMA watchers to cross over into watching True MMA and actually might teach them something by putting Kimbo on TUF.

i think lesnar vs carwin would be a great fight, i could see either winning.

  25. TIM

    October 29, 2008 at 4:10 am

Of course either fighter can win. This is off the subject but a 256-280 lesnar looks huge compared to 265lb Carwin is it just me?

  26. roy

    October 29, 2008 at 7:33 am

carwin was up over 265, thats why it took him awhile to get in to the ufc he had to drop weight as well, so far i would give the stand up to carwin.

I havent seen the too pictured together yet but from what i seen both are big but Brock just lookd enormous compared to any fighter in the UFC.. Lesnar used to be 300lbs in the WWE and in the NFL and dropped to 265 and floats around 280 290 come fight time..Well strength and power i cant rule out Carwin only from what i have seen from lesnar fights and workouts is dear God that man is scarry and has insane workouts like i have never seen. I am sure tha fight will one day happen.

  28. roy

    October 29, 2008 at 7:58 am

carwin seems to have just as much power but has more experience and looks to be the better striker but i am sure brock is the better wrestler, i think they are pretty evenly matched and it would be a great fight.

  29. TIM

    October 29, 2008 at 8:33 am

I agree it would be a great fight and test for both fighters all i am saying is Shane is 255 and looks it while Brock doesnt look 265 at fight time he looks more like 300, the man is structurally wise alot bigger that Carwin…Thicker i mean anyways that has nothing to do with fighting unless your Randy trying to clich a gorila then there is no way to get your arms around him. Power wise i havnt seen Carwin do so much damage with one punch like lesnar has…KO yes Carwin as KO power…and that has yet to be seen with Brock but given only 4th fight and Carwin 10 i think brock will a great champ and future MMA legend.
