This week’s “UFC Tonight” is an exclusive interview with all star fighter Alistair Overeem. Over the weekend, Dana White, UFC President told the press that he met with Junior Dos Santos and the fighter called out for Overeem. Dos Santos described Overeem as a “punk with a big mouth” he also mentions that Dos Santos wanted to knock out Overeem as soon as he possibly can.
Alistair Overeem will be on “UFC Tonight” to answer all these and of course to give fans a piece of his mind on what he thinks about Dos Santos and their much awaited bout, should luck permits them to do so.
Remember that Alistair Overeem was suspended for 9 months because of testing positive for drugs before his scheduled fight against Junior Dos Santos. He will be out of his suspension on December of this year. The “Demolition Man” is just 32 years old and stands at 6’5” at 256 pounds. He is basically the most controversial heavyweight fighter at the MMA with an impressive 36 wins and 11 losses in his name. Overeem has 8 straight wins after a No Contest match against Mirko Filipovic at Dream 6 – Middleweight Grand Prix 2008 Final on September 2008. He has defeated so many amazing fighters from Goodridge, Sylvester, Thompson, Fujita, Rogers, Dufee, Werdum and his most recent win was against Brock Lesnar at the UFC 141 on December 2011.
Junior “Cigano” Dos Santos on the other hand is also a prized fighter that has 15 wins and only one loss. He is just 27 years old, stands 6’4” and at 239 pounds. He has a superb 10 straight wins after his only loss against Joaquin Ferreira at the MTL Final on November 2007. His most recent win was against Frank Mir at the UFC 146 last May 26; Dos Santos finished Mir on a headline fight in just 3 minutes and 4 seconds of the second quarter.
These two fighters have been exchanging words since their interrupted fight at the UFC 146. Each one hopes to fight one another on a headliner fight that will surely keep so many fans on their toes. But of course everything happens after Overeem’s suspension is over and that will surely after the year is over. Overeem has been training hard maintaining his form and according to his previous interviews, has never lost his focus on the fight.
