Matt Hughes is scheduled to take on arch nemesis Matt Serra in April.

who cares? BFD…MMA has passed by Hughes and everyone else in Iowa.

I still think he will be a little too one dimensional.

Im tired of Matt Hughes and like wtf? said, 'everyone else in Iowa' haha. he cant keep up with the up+coming fighters n the ufc. he is gettin old and needs 2 retire. he is a boring fighter and im sick of hearing about him. hes washed up. welterweight champ= Thiago Alves -wen he gets a shot at gsp

Both Thiago and GSP dominated Kos. Thiago is the #1. Still I think GSP whoops his ass.

Thiago does have great standup, but so does GSP. Not to mention, he is quick as hell and is dangerous on the ground. It will definately be a good fight, but I see it going GSP's way also.

gsp is good but he got his ass beat by a midget(matt serra) it would b a good fight but there is no way n hell that gsp wud win. Thiago is just too strong, too smart, and too damn good.

Thiago got triangled by Spencer Fisher who was small when he fought at 170, and his speed was helping him win the exchanges. GSP's loss was a fuckin fluke because he took him lightly as demonstrated by the rematch. Thiago is going to be a tough fight, but GSP is better at every aspect of MMA.

im with patrick89 spencer fisher is more of a midget than serra imo. i think serra would destroy spencer fisher. serra is a lot better fighter than people give him credit for. and saying gsp has NO CHANCE at beating thiago is laughable at best

i hope Huges kills Matt sera Then gets in the all of fame..
GSP will kill Alves..GSP is the best mma wrestler and has good stand up

Hughes is good and i love to watch him fight but he is getting old and starting to do a Chuck Liddell and fall apart and become easy pray….But i dont like Serra…..so i hope Hughes wins

Hughes isn't that old guys, he's only 34 or 35. There's several guys that are older that are still on top of their game. Hughes just hasn't evolved as a fighter for today's standards. Like wtf? said, MMA has passed him by. I see Serra taking this fight cause he can at least strike plus has a good ground game.
October 30, 2008 at 6:45 am
Well maybe its because of his fight history he seems old like 50plus fights…

Hughes will defeat Serra, and hopefully he will then call it a day and go in the Hall of Fame at UFC 100.
A great champion, and one of the best fighters the UFC has known, whether you like him as a person or not.
