Patrick Cote is set to take on the pound for pound best fighter in the world Anderson Silva at UFC 90 “Silva vs. Cote” on Oct 25th.

cote, tsk tsk… you talk too soon.

Anderson has so many weapons he doesn't have to knock Cote out. He can pound out a TKO, submit him. Personally I think Cote will get rocked one way or the other.

Silva could knock out Cote. Who has Cote really fought?
just another mma dud

Notice he never said he was going to win. I don't know, I think the guy showed some class giving respect to Anderson and I liked that he just told it like it was. Anderson doesn't have any wholes in his game and Cote just wants to fight. That, to me, makes me want to watch the fight even more. In a world of ego driven pinheads like Tito, Kimbo, and Lebin it's nice to see there are guys out there that just want to fight. Good luck, Mr. Cote…you're going to need it!

Kimbo isnt like Tito or Leben he says every fight is a challenge and he doesnt consider one of the best. Leben and Tito do. And personally I would feel better if he was confident not just wanting to go in and fight. If he dont know if he is going to win then he wont. U cant be scarred of yor opponent or ur done. Thats how chuck one all those fights when he defended his title. He had everyone psyched out before the fight even started and they didnt want to stand and now look at him. People are starting to expose his true stand skills and show that he is only good at throwing bombs.

dana needs to stop feeding lamb to the silva the wolf. he needs to first, set up the rematch with yushin okami. people forget that okami has a W over silva. then set up the big money fights. GSP is fighting bj penn. randy is fighting lesnar. and with silva retiring in 09, we need to say chuck vs anderson, or even machida vs anderson.

Cote has the right attitude. He is realistic and not over hyping himself. I'm sure his nerves will be in check come fight day. Huge underdog for sure but anything can happen and Silva has dodged bad luck for too long. As good as Silva is, one day his opponent is gonna turn over Aces when he is holding Kings.
October 7, 2008 at 10:26 pm
I agree Jon Dean!!! It's gonna happen one day.
I like both fighters, so i just want to see a good fight!!
Cote should be able to last 1 round!!!

Cote likes to fight inside. He will fall prey to a spider's knee, like so many others. If he liked outside like Sandman, he would fall to the punch.

derek initially this summer dana white had been working on silva okami for ufc 90 but yushin got hurt this summer training so that one is postponed. I want Silva to take one more lamb and destroy him. Michael Bisping.
October 8, 2008 at 1:51 am
I am with you, Zalbag! Bisping should have been added to my list of loud mouths in my previous post. As for Kimbo being on the list, he doesn't talk as much trash as he used too but he was a loud mouth so I will give him a pass until I hear his spin on the Seth fight. And, along Zalbag's lines, I say the UFC uses him to clean house…be an enforcer, so to speak. If he is as good as we all know he is, have him do a "shutting down the ego" tour. Just my opinion

thats pretty true I guess I wish Silva could fight Jake Shields then that guy really bothers me I cant wait til he comes to the UFC and gets beat by a scrappy guy like Spencer Fisher or Joe Lauzon. Elite XC should have Kimbo fight Gina Carano
October 8, 2008 at 5:58 am
Silva is a complete fighter and I think he's gonna get the W but like you guys say and like we have seen time and time again in this sport anything can happen when you enter the octagon.
October 8, 2008 at 6:46 am
the longer the win streak the closer you are to losing, but not this one.
October 8, 2008 at 11:12 am
I think Jon Dean put it perfectly. Someone will eventually have a better card than Silva. Everyone has their bad fights and loses.
October 8, 2008 at 11:38 am
I'm w/ Zalbag. Shields couldn't even finish round 1 when he had him mounted for 2+ minutes! That guy sux! BTW, funny stuff Kimbo v Carano.

on sherdog they had like a 100 page thread of people arguing about whether Shields would be a contendor in the ufc then they did like 60 responses of guys in the ufc that would mop up shields. someone said jeremy may would beat him lmao! i really cant stand shields

Yeah, dude's a joke. One trick pony.
Back to Cote – he stands a puncher's chance, just like everyone else. No one matches up very well vs. Anderson. I can't even think of a 205er that would pose a threat. He's a bad Mo Fo!
