Cung Le defends his choice to film movies instead of defending his Strikeforce middleweight belt. Cung says he plans for a end of year or early 2010 return. He also noted that he is 37 and only has a couple fights left in him.

i like this guy a lot …wish he was in the ufc welterweight division…if he could cut that weight
August 24, 2009 at 5:59 am
sounds like a lot of bull shit to me… " the strikeforce middleweight champion determined to make his return and defend his belt… sometime."
cung le seems like a nice guy but give me a break he's beaten a ken shamrock past his prime and people say he should be fighting anderson. the guy is way over rated and needs to vacate his belt or defend it. he better get his head out of the clouds and train his ass off because monsters like nick diaz, jake sheilds, matt lindland, robby lawlor and mousasi are waiting to tear his head off.
i ment top say frank shamrock not ken shamrock
August 24, 2009 at 6:02 am
i agree if hews not injured he needs to get in the ring or cough up the belt

you guys must not have seen cung le's destruction through the san shou divison. he was dominating people to become undefeated. his striking / kicking is unmatched in the middleweight division. he can probably compete with anderson silva. not much is known about cung's ground game… so good luck with that cung.

he was sick in his san shou fights. another thing that's underrated about cung is his judo, he's got some great take downs. you guys are right though, fight or vacate the belt. it doesn't look like the belt is really a priority for him anyway.

Cun Le is a great fighter but if he is not willing to keep defending the belt he needs to relinquish it since he wants to purue acting. Its not fair to the other fighters.

i think nick diaz looked a lot more impressive against frank shamrock than cung le did in the standup
August 24, 2009 at 10:53 am
thats what they should set up. diaz vs. cung le. i think that would be a great fight.
August 24, 2009 at 10:55 am
ya it would be sick i have a feeling tho that cung le is a glorified version of houston alexander and has a horrible ground game. i have no facts to back that up just a hunch. i think his striking is pretty sick but im not sold on the cung le band wagon until he beats someone a little more skilled than frank shamrock who isnt even near the top ten.
August 24, 2009 at 11:00 am
oh yeah i'll be cung does have a bad ground game. in his earlier fights he looked like a fish out of water on the ground. on top of that i don't think he's been working on it with all of his acting work. but his striking is there. if his oppenents are smart they'll take him down.

cung lee is a joke he has not fought anyone big
frank shamrock actually performed way better against lee than diaz so what would diaz do to lee
imagine what anderson silva could do to him
Cung lee has watched bloodsport too many times and sucks van-dammes balls to get acting parts no joke read it

One things for sure — his interview skills suck a donkey dong.

Cung lee wrestled in High school and college. He just prefers to stand up just like Chukee Boy
August 24, 2009 at 5:36 pm
I like watching Cung Le and all but I don't consider him a top fighter simply cause he hasn't defended his belt in a year and a half. If he comes back and rules ass (in StrikeForce) then that would be cool but I don't see him beating top MWs in the UFC like Rich, Wanderlei, Hendo… let alone Anderson.
