I am looking forward to seeing Cerrone and Varner fight. Pulver is pretty washed up and has nothing to lose. He could always land a lucky punch. Faber will give him the chnce but I just dont see Pulver being sharp enough to capitalize. WEC has some not necessarily top talent but just overall good fights. Scrappy guys giving it there all. Not bad thing to watch for a free.

i hope pulver does better in this fight than the last time he faught faber. i have a feeling faber is gunna be a man on a mission and run through pulver tho. we will see i hope im wrong. i like pulver a lot but he's no faber. Cerrone's been training with GSP should be a good fight i cant choose who will win that one.

got it right dane. The loss to Brown had Faber on a mission, a mission to win, Pulver was just the first in line. Hope to see him continue to fight.

That was a joke ! Varner fuckin pussed out in the 5th

by a knee graze to the head! he also said he broke his hand in the 2nd rnd….so was it the broken hand or the fact that he was gettin a beat down!! The Cowboy is a Animal !!! Varner got beat !!

I had alot of respect for Varner before this fight. He was presented with an option by the ref and quit. More worried about his broken hand then the grazed kneee. He needs to take some acting lessons.

varner went through 3 different stages first saying he couldn't see.. then acting like he was dazed like 3 mins after the fact when he got up with the help of his team.. then he limps to the middle of the ring. to top it off a 4th stage saying he broke his hand. are you serious? he was acting like a little kid who tries to play hooky from school and act sick. he was so inconsistent, he is in the same book as philo if you ask me. he wanted to quit. period. the rest of the fights never made it out of the 1st round which made it a night of many commercials they should have thrown in some prelim fights..

varner could have been faking he was probably playing it up but why would he fake it? he was winning the fight. Cowboy can only blame himself that was a blatant knee when varner was sitting down. Also while looking pretty awesome that two footed kick to varners face when varner was in his gaurd and made cerrone backflip up back to his feet was also technicaly illegal. varner was way up on points and it sucked he didnt continue but he was on his way to winning the decision with all those takedowns he was doing.

varner was winning the fight and he said he had a broken hand and cerrone seemed a little freasher and to be bringing it in that last round so maybe he quit to take the win instead of fighting out the last round,he was on his way up and dropped his knee back down before the blow landed so it was illegal.i would love to see a instant rematch in this one.

man that guy punked out like a bitch. i was laughing so hard when he was stumbling to his corner. cerrone shouldnt have waited so long to take him down.

cerrone's lack of takedown defense lost him th fight plain and simple u would think he would atleast try to sprawl more seeing as he trains with gsp and rashad who are awesome at wrestling

Varner bitched out because he was gassing hard.

A split second earlier and the knee in question lands when varners feet are up. Risky yes, but that is what you do when you think you're behind on the scorecards.

yeah i agree drebin with the no sprawling. I didnt understand that either. I think he was so confident on his back he didn't wanna use the energy to fight the takedown. Maybe he wasnt sure about those extra two rounds cardio wise…? but when you get taken down 3 to 5 times per round and stand up is close your not gonna win on the cards.

Faber will have the belt again…soon.

That was ridiculous how Varner acting like he couldnt continue. That is just like the k-1 Tournanment that took place about 2 months ago. The guy didnt even get hit but he culdnt continue. Too funny;)

    January 27, 2009 at 11:39 pm

Varner did get hit in the face rewatch it and cowboy should have made sure that 4 points werent down..

Varner won the fight hands down and next time it will be TKO OR Ko in the 3 or 4

    January 27, 2009 at 11:43 pm

idk why so many ppl think Bj will win..I see GSP Ground and pound in the 3 or 4.. Gsp won the 2 and 3 rounds last time they fight.. GSP has gotten a million times better on the ground then last time and GSP still took bj down alot in the 3 and 2 round and his wrestling is alot better now..

GSP will make this fight up and down so it will make bj gas faster..just like what GSP did to serra..

The chad, how the fuck can you say that cow boy was winning the fight??

Varner took him down 3 to 4 times each round and on the feet it was back and forth and on the ground Varner was killing him.

umm ya chad….faber does lose…he's not the number one featherweight fighter in the world now and he lost his title at the last WEC if you forgot douche bag….he's also lost one more time to tyson griffin champ….cerrone was gettin owned by takedowns all night…if the fight didnt have to get stopped it for sure would have been split decision for varner
