WEC 42 Postponed Till Oct 10th, Ben Henderson Injured

Just a week out from the proposed Sept. 2 WEC “Cerrone vs Henderson”, the World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) announced that it has postponed the card to Oct. 10th. at a venue to be announced later.

An injury to main event fighter Ben Henderson forced the postponement of the event.

Or could it be the possibility of DirecTV dropping VERSUS the day before the event have something to do with it.

Dave Meltzer: “I think that what happened is is that um they that they don’t want to do that show on September 2nd if DirecTV pulls them on September 1st. So, they’re giving them so they’re pulling the show so they have, because it makes no sense for WEC, you know, I … it’s how I read it. I mean maybe Ben Henderson really is hurt, but the thing that’s really strange me to is um it’s like if he really was hurt, they would just put, why don’t they just do the match on the next show? I mean, they’ve never postponed an actual show over someone being injured, they always have a replacement.”

that is cowboys belt. just go on and give it to him. if nobody can stay healthy, and everbody else is ducking you cant dispute he's the top guy in the division. I think cerrone whoped the sh@* out of that last champ… can't remember his name though because he spends all his time injured too…. call it the Sand Man Curse… sposed to be a bad ass but always on the injured list.

worst part of this whole thing is political side of the event being canceled, most likely due to direct tv dropping vs. the WEC should have at least thrown cowboy a piece of meat and still run with the show. I got Dish why do i have to miss out. At least thier is HD Net, Cuban for president yall, I'm out

well said shawn. Varner got by for a while but the real tough fighters always expose the pretty boys who get a few easy wins and look good for tv.
